Are you one of those people who own their own company
and have to deal with email or work on projects while you're on the
road or even on a vacation? A laptop computer could be the answer you're
looking for. They contain the same components as their desktop cousins
and can do whatever they do. The biggest difference is in size and weight.
Designed primarily for portability, some laptops can be as light as
2 lbs and only 10" wide. This makes them easy to carry and easy
to set up even when you're in a car or plane.

Choosing a Laptop Computer
Laptop computers are small portable computers that weigh between as
little as 2 lbs and 10 lbs. They can be battery powered or use an external
AC/DC adapter which can charge the battery while also providing power
to the laptop. They are as capable of performing the same tasks as any
ordinary desktop computer. But while they're typically less powerful,
they often cost more. Laptops usually have liquid crystal displays,
a built-in keyboard, and a touchpad. To make things even easier, you
can get an external keyboard or a mouse. The most popular laptop computers
are made by Dell, followed closely by Hewlett Packard or HP, Acer, Toshiba,
Sony and Lenovo. Recommendation: if money is not an issue, you
should probably go with a Core Duo processor, at least 1 GB of memory,
and an 80 to 100 GB hard drive. If you are on a budget, anything above
a 1.2 GHz Pentium 4 will do just fine. Make sure its wireless so you
can access the Internet anywhere near a wireless network.
